Tracy Danet: Three Paintings

Tracy Danet is an artist from Chicago. She graduated from the American Academy of Art in 2018. Her practice focuses on the use of natural materials in physical environments. Her work documents various landscapes with elements and materials from specific environments

Sustainable, Organic, Expressive

Tracy’s artwork is a translation and an exploration. Her paintings are interdisciplinary. Her paintings are natural. She finds and redefines her environment through a wholly personal lens.

She shows us that there is beauty in the mundane, in the outdoors that we haven’t seen or for which we haven’t looked. Her deep charcoal blacks evoke dimension, something that you can revisit, like a poem or a forest. Her geology is tangible. In Tracy’s words:

“Passion for the earth and it’s natural materials is what currently drives my work. By using my hands and palette knives, the paintings create an energy and liveliness where marks are being generated. These marks that are produced are influenced by textures, surfaces, and reactions with other natural elements and substances while I am painting. Through this contact with nature, I feel a sense of appreciation and connection with humanity’s long history with nature.”
