MOTION/COMPOSURE Figures In Movement and Stillness


January 10th 7-9PM, 720 Chicago Ave, Oak Park, IL

On Friday, January 10th, from 7pm - 9pm the Oak Park Art League is hosting a reception for their open call gallery event “MOTION COMPOSURE Figures In Movement and Stillness”, which focuses on “figurative artwork expressing states of motion, rest, or both”. Poetry Foundation Forms and Features: Ode

Monday, January 20th 6-8 PM, 244 Lake St, Oak Park

Join Compound Yellow for their monthly collaboration with The Poetry Foundation’s Forms and Features reading and discussion series on January 20th from 6-8PM. Hosted by Maggie Queeney, this month’s series explores the ode across its long history and diversity of uses. This event is free and open to the public.

 
 
 

Opportunity Knocks Chili Cook-Off: hosted by Fitzgerald’s

January 12th 12-5pm, 6615 Roosevelt Road, Berwyn

On January 12th from noon-5 pm at Fitzgerald’s on 6615 Roosevelt Road, sample chili, enjoy appetizers, desert and live music, raffle and a kid friendly event area as chefs compete to win this year’s Chili-Cook off title. Individual and team competitors will vie for the title of best chili while we share a Sunday Funday and revel together for a great cause. Admission is $25 in advance, $30 at the door. Kids 12 and under are free. Proceeds go towards Opportunity Knocks, dedicated to providing opportunities and resources for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities so they may pursue their educational, occupational and social interests.
